“What Are My UNIQUE FACTORS, And How Will They Benefit Your School?”
1. I’m PASSIONATE about teaching, and my enthusiasm carries over to the students. In my opinion, one of the things that makes a great teacher is absolute PASSION for passing knowledge on to young minds. This is NOT just a job for me. My goal is simple: to not only teach, but to motivate & inspire the students - and I believe I have the skills, education, and talent to do just that.
2. To me, forming lasting and important RELATIONSHIPS with every student is vital. While I realize this can be very challenging much of the time, this is something I’m completely dedicated to doing, because I’ve seen the positive results of this in my own classrooms. Every student is a unique individual who learns in their own unique way. By paying attention to the little details of each students’ lives, this allows me to teach the INDIVIDUAL as well as the CLASS. (Example: A recent student of mine was wearing a PETER PAN t-shirt to class one day, and I asked her what that t-shirt meant to her. I attended a performance of Peter Pan that this student was performing in. That is something that she and I will always remember - a relationship that was formed.
3. I bring to the classroom an extensive SKILL SET, or “toolbox,” if you will, already in place for successfully teaching students of many ages. I’m especially proud of my work with both LD students and special ed students. I’ve already taught in both high school and middle school, and have used the hands-on teaching strategies I’ve developed over the years to reach even the most challenging students. I truly believe that teaching is so much more than just following the text books and lecturing from the front of the room. This approach will benefit your school and your students, as I teach Social Studies and Earth Science.
